The Reptile King's Education Center
Hello everyone!
As you probably already know, we are an upcoming online store. But more than that we really want to help this industry by providing the best information we can on Reptiles, Amphibians, and Invertebrates. There are many herps that are purchased without the person even knowing the slightest idea of how to care for them, or not knowing exactly what they are getting into. Almost all herps require some sort of special care, weather it be diet, housing, heating, lighting or substrate. Not providing the ideal conditions for your new pet can cause serious illness and even death. Not to mention the stress on the owner who is "lost" when things go wrong. Many reptiles are abandoned into their local wild life where they either die, or thrive and become a nuisance to the local population. Green Iguanas are the perfect example of this. People buy that cute little green lizard in the pet shop for 20 bucks, to later find out that it requires a specific diet, and will grow up to 6 feet in length. Florida has wild Iguanas that have been released from captivity and do well in the perfect weather conditions nature provides them. The same is true with many snakes such as the reticulated python or the green anaconda who grow over 25 feet in length.
We want to change all this. By providing a resource center for Reptile information, we aim to educate those who want to get into the industry and those who are already in the industry but want to better the way they do things. The articles in our database have been pulled from all over the internet. You will find Husbandry articles, caresheets, lighting, heating, and humidity articles, and many many more. Currently we have 600+ articles. We will continue to expand this database in the future with help from people like you. If you would like to contribute an article, or take credit for one of the articles we have already posted please contact us at customercare@thereptileking.com. The articles posted give credit when that information was provided, we will update source information as it becomes available to us. The entire database has links to share, email, print, rate, export, and comment. We offer RSS feeds so you can stay current too.It is also completely ad free! Please use this resource freely and help educate the world on reptiles.
Together we can make the entire industry better!
